According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word "slut" has a number of meanings. There have been many movements or " SlutWalks " taking place around the world to regain a sense of pride in women. The word slut is commonly interchanged with the words trampwhorehussy and hooker. Slut shaming in college is related to "class, gender, culture, media, feminism, ethnicity, religion and sexuality. Gender roles are becoming less defined for women, yet old fashioned ideas about men being "soft" if they live outside the traditional masculine identity continue to pervade our collective consciousness.
